Twenty-ninth U.S. President. Harding's presidency was plagued by financial and political
misfortune and misconduct. He and his Secretary of the Treasury Andrew W. Mellon had the burden of correcting the economic
depression of 1921-22. His administration was responsible for the adoption of a national budget already planned by the
Wilson administration. | |
